What a Twenty-First Century Catholic School Should Be

Admissions Requirements

Students entering Holy Name Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School as seventh or ninth graders are required to have taken an entrance exam at the high school or a Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of Worcester during the previous school year; usually these exams are offered in November, December and January. Only students taking an entrance exam in November or December are eligible for an academic scholarship.

Any incoming seventh or ninth grader who has missed this entrance exam must be interviewed and accepted by the principal of Holy Name. This interview will include a review of report cards.

Students wishing to transfer into Holy Name as an eighth, tenth or eleventh grader are allowed to do so, if space permits, and after an entrance interview with the principal of Holy Name. This interview will include a review of report cards. Holy Name does not accept twelfth grade transfers unless the student’s family has recently moved to the area, and they have previously attended a Catholic high school.
